I am an experienced Specialist Assessor registered with the British Dyslexia Association with extensive experience of working in a range of educational settings from nursery and primary schools through to secondary schools.

In my most recent role as a school based assessor and exams officer my work involved identifying children’s barriers to learning, recommending interventions to teaching staff and securing extra time and adaptations for public exams so that young people can fulfil their potential.

I am passionate about supporting young people by initially diagnosing barriers to learning and then recommending the support and interventions that will enable them to succeed.

Working with children from the age of 7 to adulthood I have the knowledge and expertise to diagnose barriers to academic achievement such as dyslexia and difficulties with processing. Once these learning difficulties are identified young people are able to understand themselves as learners, their parents and teachers are informed and empowered to be able to provide the required support and interventions to facilitate future success. This often includes extra time or specialist provision in 11+ assessments, GCSE, A Level and BTEC exams.

The problems that parents and schools most often seek advice on include:

  • Assessment of dyslexia

  • Processing difficulties

  • Reading problems

  • General learning difficulties

  • Handwriting problems / speed

  • Cognitive assessment

Children may not always have a specific difficulty to be seen by me. Many parents seek an assessment in order to help them assess their child’s potential and progress. This can also help you to find the right school for your child.

With highly competitive rates I can support schools, Exams Officers and individual families. I do hope you get in touch to discuss how I can support your child.

I am based in Upminster but cover all of South Essex and East London.
